Family Resources

At Royal Life Centers, we know how difficult the impact of substance use can be on the entire family. ‘Because We Care’, we do everything we can to ease concerns and make treatment as smooth as possible. Our highly trained and professional staff is there to help every step of the way. This way guests can completely focus on getting well in a safe, comfortable environment. In other words, we make sure guests transition to a new way of life is seamless.

We suggest our guests bring between four and six changes of light and comfortable clothing. We ask that guests do not bring clothing that references drugs or alcohol, as that may make other guests uncomfortable. Our bedrooms are comfortable and spacious; each equipped with a flat screen TV and Dish Network. In addition, three delicious meals are provided daily, and guests have unlimited access to a variety of beverages and snacks.

How We Care for Your Loved One

For those struggling with substance abuse issues, addiction treatment programs may offer the intensive support and accountability needed at an early stage of their recovery journey. Family members can make a huge difference for these individuals in finding the right residential program for their unique needs.

At Royal Life Detox, your loved one:

  • Is assigned a case manager to help them navigate legal and social issues and access local community resources.
  • Is paired with a primary therapist who provides counseling and support throughout treatment.
  • Maintains a close relationship with the medical provider for medication management.

After completing detox at Royal Life Detox, your loved one may:

  • Transition into residential treatment for additional time in intensive therapy.
  • Receive job readiness training, vocation services, and assistance with continuing education in PHP and IOP.
  • Continue healing and living with others during early recovery by staying sober living and participating in traditional outpatient treatment.

You can rest easy knowing that your loved one is in good hands at Royal Life Detox. Our Arizona detox and residential facilities are designed to help your loved one focus their efforts on recovery in the safest, most comfortable environment without outside distractions.

Support Group Resources For Families Affected By Addiction & Substance Abuse

Addiction is often referred to as a family disease because it affects not only the individual struggling with substance abuse but also their loved ones. To foster healing, families and friends need to prioritize their own recovery. Fortunately, there are many resources available to provide support and guidance for those impacted by a loved one’s addiction.

Below are some valuable organizations and programs designed to help families navigate this difficult journey:

  • Al-Anon: A support network where parents and loved ones can connect, process their experiences, and find hope in the face of a child’s addiction.
  • Nar-Anon: A community for those whose lives have been affected by the addiction of a family member or friend.
  • Families Anonymous (FA): A 12-step-based support group providing guidance and comfort to families and friends of individuals with substance use issues.
  • Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL): A peer-led program where parents offer encouragement and practical advice to others navigating their child’s addiction.
  • Face It Together: Confidential, evidence-based peer coaching designed to support both those battling addiction and their loved ones.
  • SMART Recovery Family & Friends: Support meetings that incorporate SMART Recovery tools to assist loved ones in managing addiction’s challenges.
  • Partnership to End Addiction: A community hosted by Drugfree.org, offering free online gatherings led by trained parent coaches to provide understanding and resources to families in need.

These family resources can provide a sense of community, understanding, and support for those who are dealing with a loved one’s substance use. It is important to remember that addiction not only affects the individual struggling with it, but also their loved ones. Seeking out these resources can be a crucial step in learning how to cope and help your loved one on their journey towards recovery.

The Importance of Family Resources

Treatment may be the first step toward recovery, but achieving lasting sobriety often requires additional support. Sober support networks and addiction education play a vital role in building a strong foundation for recovery, both for individuals and their loved ones. By learning about addiction and the recovery process, you not only show your commitment to your loved one’s success but also equip yourself with the tools to navigate challenges, such as potential relapses.

One key aspect of these resources is the emphasis on person-first language, which fosters respect and compassion in discussions about addiction and recovery. Understanding how to approach sensitive conversations can make a significant difference in supporting your loved one. Family-focused resources can guide you in adopting these practices while also helping you heal and grow from the impact of addiction. Together, education and empathy create a pathway toward recovery for everyone involved. Because We Care.
