Case Management

What is Case Management?

When an individual decides to seek treatment, there are matters in their personal life that have to be put on hold, especially in detox and residential treatment. Case management can help a guest handle the real-life issues that may be causing additional stress. A case manager can get in contact with an employer to explain absences from work or send documents to a lawyer or probation officer verifying their stay at our facility. Our case managers at Royal Life Centers help guests deal with these issues, whether they may be social or pending legal issues.

case management - case management services - case manager

Case management at Royal Life Centers serves as a single point of contact to assists guests with basic community resources. The purpose of case management is two-fold. At first case managers provide guests with resources and services to help resolve any pre-existing or on-going issues. Eventually as a client prepares to leave our care, case managers work to cost-effectively coordinate personalized after-care plans. Aftercare plans can include an outpatient program or even transportation to 12-step meetings.

How Case Management Works

Every guest at Royal Life Centers receives a case manager with whom they will work with throughout treatment. Guests guest will discuss their needs with their case manager, who will use their knowledge of available resources to best help the guest. The case manager is careful to make suggestions within the guest’s financial means. Once a guest makes a selection, the case manager can connect them with the preferred services. Case management duties include helping guests apply for government assistance as well as arranging a stay in a halfway house. It is important to note that case management is founded in an understanding of guest experiences as addicts and alcoholics. Case managers essentially serve as advocates for our guests and need to promote their best interest. Case management is familiar with the challenges our guests face and the problems that often come along with substance abuse. These problems can include mental illness, criminal records, infection from intravenous use, etc. Case management operates as a liaison between services/agencies in the community and our guests to promote guest wellness and autonomy.
